ABC News Studios has announced its upcoming true crime docuseries, Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit, which revisits the chilling 1995 disappearance of the TV newscaster. The three-part series premieres on July 15 on Hulu, another division of the Disney Company.

The official synopsis reads: “In 1995, rising TV news anchor Jodi Huisentruit disappeared from her Iowa apartment just before dawn, leaving behind signs of a violent abduction. Her case quickly became one of the nation’s most haunting unsolved mysteries. Now, 30 years later, ‘Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit’ follows a major break that reenergized the case.”

Prompted by a 2022 20/20 episode, a tip from one of Huisentruit’s close friends led Mason City Police to disclose a clue they had kept secret for decades. In this gripping true crime series, the production crew gains exclusive access to the dedicated law enforcement team as they pursue fresh leads, conduct intense interviews, and identify two new persons of interest, bringing them closer than ever to discovering what really happened to Jodi Huisentruit.

Highlighting the determination of her loved ones, the power of collective memory, and the enduring role of journalism, Her Last Broadcast: The Abduction of Jodi Huisentruit sheds new light on a case that has haunted the nation for decades.
