Created by Stephen Butchard, This City Is Ours became one of BBC’s biggest successes of 2025, praised for its intense storytelling and strong performances. Following its hit first season, the series quickly secured a renewal for Season 2.
Set against the backdrop of a collapsing crime empire, This City Is Ours follows a passionate love story entangled in loyalty, betrayal, and power. The main cast includes James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Onslow, Sean Bean, and Julie Graham.
For the upcoming season, La Casa De Papel star Álvaro Morte and Endeavour actor Shaun Evans have officially joined the cast. Morte will portray a Colombian cartel member, the brother of Ricardo, who was killed in Season 1, while Evans will appear as former gangster Ozzie Thomas.

Filming for Season 2 has begun in Liverpool, with additional scenes to be shot in Spain. Butchard remains on board as lead writer, with directors Saul Dibb and Chris Baugh returning from the first season.
Produced by Sony-owned Left Bank Pictures for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, the new season is executive produced by Andy Harries, Rebecca Hodgson, Sian McWilliams, Saul Dibb, and Jo McClellan.
