Beta Cinema has introduced its new thriller film The Method at the European Film Market (EFM).
The film is adapted from the international bestseller by one of Germany’s leading contemporary authors, Juli Zeh. The Method is produced by Wiedemann & Berg Film and written and directed by Lena Stahl.
Starring Hannah Herzsprung, Damian Hardung, Alexander Fehling, Haley Louise Jones, and Christian Friedel, the story is set within an oppressive system known as ‘The Method,’ built on the ideals of absolute health and transparency.
Scientist Mia Holl begins to question the system after her brother is accused of murder. The film is positioned as a political and psychological crime thriller exploring themes of personal freedom, justice, and state control.
Oscar-winning composer Volker Bertelmann provides the score. The film is currently in post-production, with LEONINE planning a wide theatrical release later this year.
Beta Cinema is presenting the film to international buyers at EFM.
