British filmmaker Guy Ritchie is returning to the world of Sherlock Holmes. With Young Sherlock, set to premiere on Prime Video, Ritchie will explore the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic detective.

Ritchie is no stranger to 221B Baker Street. The director, who recently made headlines with the MobLand series starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, previously directed the Sherlock films led by Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

The series is adapted from British author Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels, an eight-book collection published between 2010 and 2015. The stories reimagine Holmes as a teenager, delving into his early investigations, his developing instincts, and the experiences that eventually shape him into the world’s greatest detective.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin (known for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare & young Tom Riddle in the Harry Potter movies) steps into the role of a teenage Sherlock. He leads an ensemble cast that includes Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and Colin Firth.

An exact premiere date is TBA.
