Netflix is working on a new crime drama, titled Here Comes the Flood. The movie will be directed by the Academy Award nominee Fernando Meirelles (The Two Popes, The City of God) and written by Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith).
Here Comes the Flood is an unconventional heist movie starring Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People), Denzel Washington (Glory), and Robert Pattinson (The Batman). This thriller features a deadly game between a security guard, a teller, and a thief. These three figures will find themselves in a web of cons and double crosses, which will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. The rest of the cast members and the release date are to be announced by Netflix.
Here Comes the Flood will be produced by Meirelles, along with Kinberg and Audrey Chon for Genre Films. Samson Mucke will be the executive producer.
Denzel Washington is currently working with Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X) on his new movie Highest 2 Lowest. Described as a modern retelling of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 movie High and Low, Highest 2 Lowest is set in present-day New York and centres around a music producer.
Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson is preparing to return with a busier-than-ever schedule. He is working on The Batman Part II, directed by Matt Reeves and expected to release in 2027, Die, My Love with Jennifer Lawrence, The Drama with Zendaya by A24, and Christopher Nolan’s latest movie with a star-studded cast, The Odyssey, to be released in July 2026.
Daisy Edgar-Jones is working on A Place in Hell along with Michelle Williams, written and directed by Chloe Domont. The thriller drama follows two women at a high-profile criminal law firm.
