Josephine Park is set to lead the Danish crime drama Side Effects.
The series centers on an investigation into deadly synthetic opioids, with Park portraying lead investigator Nora Søby, who works within Denmark’s highest-level crime unit.
The story begins with the murder of a port security guard and the disappearance of a major shipment of pills containing a lethal opioid.
Commissioned by TV2, Side Effects is produced by Miso Film and supported by the Danish Film Institute’s Public Service Pool. Jonas Allen and Peter Bose serve as producers, with the script written by Those Who Kill writer Lasse Kyed Rasmussen. Direction is handled by Jonas Alexander Arnby (The Uniform).
International sales are being handled by Fremantle, Miso Film’s parent company. Production is set to begin this spring.
The project was unveiled during the TV Drama Vision event at the Göteborg Film Festival.
