SkyShowtime held an exclusive world premiere for its new Polish Original series Langer on May 21, unveiling the first two episodes in Warsaw. The six-episode thriller debuts on the Polish SkyShowtime today, May 22, and the new episodes will air weekly. The complete series will launch across all other SkyShowtime markets on July 25.

The latest SkyShowtime Original, Langer was adapted from best-selling author Remigiusz Mróz’s novel with the same name. Mróz’sa books have sold more than 10 million copies, and he is one of the most widely read authors in Poland, where the series was also produced.

Mróz’s works have been adapted for the screen before, with great success. The crime drama The Defence, adapted from the Chyłka series, starred Magdalena Cielecka and aired on TVN and Max. Meanwhile, Netflix adapted the Forst series into the crime drama Detective Forst. Detective Forst quickly became one of the most popular shows on the platform, climbing to third place globally just days after its premiere and reaching nearly five million viewers.

Langer tells the story of Piotr Langer, a young and dashing businessman who inherited a financial holding company after the tragic death of his father. Despite his refined exterior, Piotr has a secret and longtime passion, which he carries out in his spare time. He is an elusive serial killer who has been pursued unsuccessfully by prosecutors for years.
