NBC is developing a new crime drama pilot starring Emily Deschanel, inspired by the groundbreaking work of profiler Dr. Ann Burgess.

The series follows a psychologist working alongside the FBI, using a victim-centered investigative method that challenges traditional criminal profiling techniques.

The project comes from Dean Georgaris and John Fox and is inspired by the real-life work of renowned criminal profiler Dr. Ann Burgess. Deschanel will portray Professor Georgia Ryan, a pioneering psychologist who consults with the FBI.

The story centers on an innovative investigative approach that shifts the focus of crime-solving from the perpetrator to the victim. The pilot received its official greenlight from NBC in January.

In addition to starring, Deschanel will also serve as a producer. She is best known for her 12-season run on Bones. The project is produced by Universal Television.
