Netflix has released the first trailer for its new crime series Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, adapted from Jo Nesbø’s best-selling novels.

The series stars Tobias Santelmann as Harry Hole, described as one of literature’s most iconic detectives.

Nesbø is closely involved in the project as creator and executive producer. Speaking about the adaptation, he said: “It’s been great working with Tobias Santelmann and shaping a character that feels fresh while remaining true to the novels and their universe. I’m really looking forward to introducing this version of Harry Hole to audiences.”

The story follows anti-hero detective Harry Hole as he struggles with his inner demons while hunting a serial killer and coming face to face with his corrupt colleague, Tom Waaler.

More than a classic whodunnit, the series presents a character-driven drama that explores moral grey areas, power dynamics and the limits of the justice system.

The cast also includes Joel Kinnaman, Pia Tjelta, Peter Stormare, Anders Baasmo, Kåre Conradi, and Eili Harboe.

Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole premieres on Netflix on March 26.
