Banijay Entertainment has announced its new project today: a reality whodunit series titled The Detective Club. The series will debut next month on W9 and is produced by Banijay France’s B Prod, which is known for international reality hits such as The Fifty and Good Luck Guys.

In The Detective Club, 18 celebrities will be gathered in a large house by a mysterious host. When the host’s beloved dog, Kiki, is missing, the guests find themselves in a strategic game of deduction and deceit, with the two culprits hiding among them. To uncover the truth, the celebrities must gather clues, participate in interrogations, and name their prime suspects in a dramatic showdown at the end of each episode. But there is a twist: the culprits are allowed to secretly eliminate one guest per round.

To claim the €20,000 prize, contestants must outsmart their rivals and make it to the very end. Bringing the reality show format and the thrill of whodunit together, The Detective Club will captivate audiences with its battle of wits and entertaining challenges.

Florence Fayard, CEO, B Prod commented: “Creativity is at the heart of B Prod’s DNA as seen in travelling hits like The Fifty and Good Luck Guys. We are proud to unveil our latest original format, The Detective Club, a show that blends strategy, humour, and wit. Reminiscent of childhood games, the reality stars dive into a high-stakes investigation unlike any other. It’s a distinctly feel-good, suspense-filled show promising viewers a truly entertaining experience.”

James Townley, Chief Content Officer, Development, Banijay Entertainment, said: “The Detective Club delivers a bold new twist on reality TV, seamlessly blending mystery, strategy and deception into a fast-paced, binge-worthy format. With B Prod’s proven creative edge, this whodunit is set to become a standout addition to our slate, and we’re sure it will get the world’s buyers talking.”

With The Detective Club, B Prod continues to enlarge its catalogue of premium non-scripted global adaptations and local hits that have reached international audiences. This includes Good Luck Guys, a 2023 hit from K7 with eight versions produced so far; The Fifty, adapted for Poland, Germany, and the US Hispanic market; Temptation Island, which returned on W9 last year; and the long-running reality series Party Workers, which has aired more than 20 seasons on W9.
