Hulu’s popular crime comedy Only Murders in the Building is preparing to return with its fifth season. Starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, the show has released the first trailer for the new season.
In Season 4, our trio headed to Hollywood for a film adaptation of their true crime podcast, marking the first time the story ventured outside the Arconia. However, the Season 5 trailer of Only Murders in the Building centers on the suspicious death of the Arconia’s doorman, Lester. Our amateur detectives Charles, Oliver, and Mabel launch a new investigation within the Arconia, which expands to different corners of New York, with former mob members, powerful elites, and mysterious witnesses.
Renée Zellweger, Keegan-Michael Key, Christoph Waltz, Logan Lerman, Téa Leoni, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, and Jermaine Fowler join the cast in the new season. Meanwhile, Meryl Streep, Michael Cyril Creighton, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Nathan Lane, and Richard Kind return from the previous seasons. Téa Leoni’s character, Sofia Caccimelio, will appear as the wife of missing person Nicky “The Neck” Caccimelio, a member of the Caputo crime family.
Created by John Hoffman and Steve Martin, Only Murders in the Building has earned a total of 56 Primetime Emmy nominations and won 7 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Only Murders in the Building Season 5 will premiere on September 9 and will be added to the Disney+ library.
