Set against the isolation of a remote cabin, the film blends premeditated crime, psychological warfare and escalating violence, as a couple’s secret assassination plots collide with explosive consequences.

The film is an English-language remake of the Nordic black comedy thriller The Trip, which premiered on Netflix in 2021.
The movie stars Samara Weaving and Jason Segel as a dysfunctional couple who travel to a secluded cabin under the guise of saving their marriage. In reality, both are secretly planning to kill the other. Unsurprisingly, their schemes unravel, and the retreat descends into a brutal fight for survival.
The film is directed by Jorma Taccone, a member of The Lonely Island comedy group. The original film’s director, Tommy Wirkola, serves as an executive producer on the remake. The 2021 original was widely praised by critics for its inventive storytelling and unpredictable twists.
Over Your Dead Body will have its world premiere at SXSW before opening in US cinemas on April 24, distributed by Independent Film Company.
