An American tourist’s literary getaway turns deadly in Boutique, as Paul Giamatti steps into a chilling tale of murder and secrecy set in a seemingly picturesque English seaside town.
What begins as a pilgrimage to honor a beloved reclusive author quickly spirals into a fight for survival when his character uncovers a violent secret society operating in plain sight.
Two-time Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti is returning to the horror genre for the first time in nearly a decade with Boutique.
Production is being lined up for this summer. The project marks the feature directorial debut of writer-director Jim Gavin.
Giamatti will also produce alongside Dan Carey through their company Touchy Feely Films. Producers include James Harris and Mark Lane for Tea Shop Productions, and Guy Danella for XYZ Films, which will finance the film and handle world sales. UTA is co-representing domestic rights.
Giamatti praised the script as “scary, funny, bizarre, and strangely moving.”
Up next, the actor has projects with Tom McCarthy and Jesse Eisenberg in the works, and he is also attached to star in an Eli Roth Hostel series.
