CBS’s Watson is returning for a second season, and this time, the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes is joining the story. Scottish actor Robert Carlyle, best known as Begbie in Danny Boyle’s cult classic Trainspotting, will take on the iconic role.

The first season of Watson took place in a modern-day setting without Sherlock Holmes, focusing instead on Dr. John H. Watson, who runs a clinic specializing in rare diseases. The story begins with the infamous Reichenbach Falls incident, where Dr. Watson witnesses Holmes and Professor James Moriarty plunge into the river. Believing Holmes to be dead, Watson relocates to the U.S. to start a new life. The series blends elements of medical drama and crime procedural, offering a unique take on the classic detective story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
