Created by Bill Dubuque (Ozark) and led by showrunner Karen Campbell (Dexter), the new Peacock crime drama M.I.A. is set to premiere on May 7, 2026.

The nine-episode season follows Etta Tiger Jonze, played by Shannon Gisela, a young woman thrust into Miami’s dangerous criminal underground after her family’s drug business is dismantled and most of her relatives are murdered.

Hell-bent on revenge, Etta embarks on a high-stakes mission to track down and eliminate the twelve men responsible for the massacre while they simultaneously hunt her down.

The series stands out for its cultural authenticity, blending the vibrant Latin and Haitian communities of Miami through Etta’s alliance with her friends Lovely and Stanley.

Unlike many famous Miami-based shows like Dexter or Griselda that were filmed elsewhere, M.I.A. holds the distinction of being actually produced on location in the “Magic City.”

The cast features a mix of rising stars and veterans, including series regulars Cary Elwes and Danay Garcia, alongside a guest appearance by the legendary Edward James Olmos.
