SkyShowtime continues to expand its collection of Spanish original series with the upcoming psychological thriller Matices (Shades). The eight-episode series will premiere exclusively on the streaming service on June 5.
Shades follows a renowned psychiatrist who brings six patients to the basement of a remote winery to test his groundbreaking treatment method. But the experiment quickly spirals out of control, leading to a tragic incident that draws police into the case. To solve the mystery, the police officers must unravel the hidden traumas of each patient.
The main cast includes Maxi Iglesias, Juana Acosta, Hovik Keuchkerian, Fariba Sheikhan, Raúl Prieto, Elsa Pataky, Eusebio Poncela, Enrique Arce, and Miriam Giovanelli.
The original series is written by Javier Naya, Alex Meriweather, and Sergio Cánovas. Cánovas also directs and executive produces alongside María García-Castrillón. The show is produced by Secuoya Studios and Stellarmedia in association with SkyShowtime.
Previous Spanish originals from SkyShowtime include the true crime docuseries A Recipe for Murder, the comedy-drama Mamen Mayo, and the upcoming series Nails.
