The Better Sister, featuring Jessica Biel & Elizabeth Banks, will be aired on Prime Video on Thursday, May 29.
The first look at The Better Sister has been shared with the leads, Biel and Banks. The eight-episode series will premiere on Prime Video on May 29 worldwide, in more than 240 countries and territories.
The Better Sister was adapted from Alafair Burke’s novel with the same name and tells the story of unfortunate events that separate and then eventually unite the two sisters. Chloe (Biel) is a successful media executive who seemingly lives the perfect life with her charming lawyer husband Adam (Corey Stoll) with their teenage son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan). Meanwhile, her estranged sister Nicky (Banks) faces financial hardships and addiction problems. After Adam’s vicious murder, the primary suspect shocks the entire family, bringing the two sisters together to unfold their family’s entangled history and uncover Adam’s death.
Alongside Biel, Banks, Stoll, and Donovan, the series also features Kim Dickens, Bobby Naderi, Gabriel Sloyer, and Gloria Reuben, with Matthew Modine and Lorraine Toussaint.
Olivia Milch (Ocean’s 8) and Regina Corrado (Mayor of Kingstown) are named as the executive producers and showrunners. Series director Craig Gillespie (Pam & Tommy) and Annie Marter serve as executive producers under Fortunate Jack Productions, joined by Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, and Alissa Bachner of Tomorrow Studios (One Piece). The leads Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Banks, Michelle Purple, and Kerry Orent also executive produce. The series is co-produced by Amazon, MGM Studios, and Tomorrow Studios, affiliated with ITV Studios.
