Centering on one of the darkest serial killer cases in U.S. history, Fear Not brings a gripping true-crime story to the screen with Anne Hathaway in the lead.

Developed for Paramount+, the series is adapted from a Vanity Fair article, with Hathaway also serving as an executive producer. Fear Not explores the story of a real serial killer and the unsettling bond he forms with his final surviving victim.

Set against the backdrop of the American Southwest in the 1970s and 1980s, the series focuses on the true story of serial killer Stephen Morin, who abducted and murdered nearly 50 people. Anne Hathaway portrays Margy Palm, the only known victim to survive one of Morin’s attacks. According to authorities, Morin has been linked to more crimes than infamous serial killer Ted Bundy. The series will delve in detail into the intertwined stories of Stephen Morin and his last surviving victim, Margy Palm.

After Morin was arrested, Margy Palm continued to meet with him, and their relationship reportedly lasted until his execution. Fear Not is adapted from Julie Miller’s Vanity Fair article, “Sympathy for the Devil.”
The series is created and written by Bathsheba Doran, known for her work on Boardwalk Empire, The Looming Tower, and Beef. Margy Palm herself, along with her husband Bart Palm and their daughter Noelle Palm, also serve as producers on the project.
