Oxygen True Crime has greenlit The Siders 16: Ohio House of Horrors, a feature-length documentary from KT Studios examining the disturbing case involving 16 children discovered in allegedly deplorable living conditions in rural Ohio.
What Is The Siders 16: Ohio House of Horrors About?
Oxygen True Crime is expanding its documentary slate with The Siders 16: Ohio House of Horrors, a 90-minute film that will follow the Ohio case as the investigation and legal proceedings continue to unfold.
The case emerged in June 2026, when authorities in Vinton County, Ohio, discovered 16 children, ranging from toddlers to teenagers, living in a 12-by-12-foot room under conditions officials described as deeply concerning.
The children’s parents, Gary Siders Jr. and Elizabeth Siders, as well as their grandparents, Gary Siders Sr. and Christina Siders, were arrested and charged with multiple counts of child endangerment.
How Will the Oxygen Documentary Explore the Case?
Rather than approaching the story solely as a retrospective true crime documentary, The Siders 16: Ohio House of Horrors is expected to examine the investigation as it develops in real time.
The film will look at the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the children, the arrests of the four adults and the questions surrounding responsibility for what allegedly took place inside the home.
The case took another turn in August, when Gary Siders Jr. and Elizabeth Siders were also charged in connection with separate allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor. Both have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Who Is Behind The Siders 16: Ohio House of Horrors?
The documentary comes from KT Studios, the true crime production company behind titles including Murder 101 and Peacock’s The Idaho Student Murders.
KT Studios founder Stephanie Lydecker will direct the documentary and serve as an executive producer alongside Kevin Brennecke.
The project continues Oxygen’s focus on high-profile true crime cases while also extending the story beyond television.
Will The Siders 16 Have a Companion Podcast?
Alongside the documentary, Oxygen is launching its first-ever companion podcast series.
The ten-part audio series will further explore the Ohio case and will be available across major podcast platforms as well as Oxygen’s digital platforms.
The move gives The Siders 16: Ohio House of Horrors a multi-platform format, allowing the investigation to be followed through both a feature-length documentary and serialized audio coverage.
The Siders 16: Ohio House of Horrors is expected to premiere on Oxygen True Crime later in 2026.
