MGM+ has acquired the international rights to Secret Service, the five-part espionage thriller starring Gemma Arterton, from All3Media International and Potboiler Productions.
The series will be available to MGM+ audiences across the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Italy.
Commissioned by ITV and adapted from Tom Bradby’s novel, Secret Service follows senior MI6 officer Kate Henderson, played by Arterton, whose covert investigation uncovers evidence that a high-ranking British politician may be working as a Russian asset.
As her investigation threatens to expose a potentially devastating political conspiracy, Kate finds herself caught between political loyalty, international security and personal sacrifice. With her career at stake, she must uncover the truth before it is too late.
The series stars Gemma Arterton, Rafe Spall, Alex Kingston, Mark Stanley, Roger Allam, Amaka Okafor, Aoife Hinds, Avi Nash, Alma Prelec and Khalid Abdalla.
Tom Bradby and Jemma Kennedy created and adapted Secret Service. Oscar winner James Marsh directs alongside Farren Blackburn, with Marsh known for Man on Wire and The Theory of Everything.
The MGM+ deal marks the platform’s first acquisition from All3Media International. The distributor is handling worldwide sales and has already secured broadcast partners in several territories, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Georgia, Japan and Israel.
The thriller has also made an impact with audiences and festivals. Secret Service premiered in Italy at the Italian Global Series Festival, where Rafe Spall won Best Lead Actor in a Drama. In the UK, the series opened with 3.9 million viewers and became ITV1’s second-best new drama launch of 2026.
With its combination of political intrigue, espionage and a high-profile cast, Secret Service is now set to reach a wider international audience through MGM+.
