Danish public broadcaster DR has renewed police academy drama The Uniform (Uniformen) for a second season, with filming scheduled to begin in February 2027 and a premiere expected in early 2028.

The Uniform proved to be a major success for DR following its February 2026 debut, attracting 1.5 million viewers and achieving a 47% audience share. According to producer Jonas Allen, it ranks among the broadcaster’s most successful drama productions of the past five years.

Development on the second season began immediately after the first season’s scripts were completed, ahead of an official renewal. Writers Oscar Giese and Anders August are returning for the new installment, while Jonas Alexander Arnby will once again direct the series.

Pre-production is set to start in October 2026, with delivery expected by the end of 2027.

Set within the Danish National Police Academy, The Uniform explores the aftermath of a violent arrest in which a student officer shoots and injures an aggressive young man. The resulting investigation raises questions about police training, the use of force, and institutional accountability, placing both students and staff under intense scrutiny.

International distribution is handled by Fremantle. The series has also secured a UK broadcast deal with the BBC, where the first season will air on BBC Four and be available on BBC iPlayer.
