Rising star Kelli Berglund, widely recognized for her roles in Heels and Now Apocalypse, has officially joined the cast of Hulu’s highly anticipated new Prison Break series as a series regular.

In a significant recasting move, Berglund will step into the role of Cheyenne, a female inmate navigating one of the deadliest prisons in the United States, taking over the character originally portrayed by Priscilla Delgado in the pilot.

The upcoming series offers a fresh take on the franchise, centering on a soldier-turned-corrections officer who accepts a high-stakes job at a brutal penitentiary. Driven by devotion, the protagonist is determined to prove exactly how far she is willing to go to save someone she loves. Berglund joins a talented ensemble cast that already includes Emily Browning, Drake Rodger, Lukas Gage, Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, Georgie Flores, and Myles Bullock.

The creative direction of the new Prison Break is led by showrunner, executive producer, and pilot director Elgin James, best known for his work on Mayans M.C. The production team also features the return of original series executive producer Dawn Olmstead, ensuring a bridge between the classic roots of the show and this new iteration.

Produced by 20th Television for Hulu, Prison Break promises to bring intense, character-driven storytelling to one of television’s most iconic premises.
