Radial Entertainment and UK-based FirstLookStudios are reuniting for a third season of Making a Serial Killer, the true crime documentary series exploring the backgrounds and experiences that shaped some of the world’s most notorious serial killers.

Announced on October 15, 2026, the new season will consist of 10 episodes and premiere this December on platforms yet to be announced. Radial Entertainment has secured exclusive all-media rights to the season across the United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

Making a Serial Killer: Exploring the Stories Behind the Crimes

A Radial Original production, Making a Serial Killer goes beyond the crimes themselves to examine the circumstances and formative experiences that preceded them. The series combines testimony from people affected by the killers’ crimes with accounts from law enforcement officers who helped stop them from killing again.

Forensic psychology and criminology experts contribute insights into the paths that led the individuals featured in the series from troubled beginnings to repeated murder. The documentaries trace their backgrounds, escalating behavior, and eventual killing sprees, seeking to understand not only how the crimes were committed and solved, but also the factors that shaped the perpetrators.

“We’re focused on building lasting true crime franchises with international appeal, and FirstLookStudios has been a fantastic partner in bringing that vision to life,” said Cristina Guggino, VP of Originals & Content Partnerships at Radial Entertainment. “Making a Serial Killer delivers on that strategy by examining the mind of the killer without losing sight of the human impact. We’re excited to bring a third season to audiences across the U.S., Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.”

A Continuing International Partnership

Will Hanrahan of FirstLookStudios highlighted the series’ focus on the motivations behind the crimes, as well as the investigation and capture of the perpetrators.

“Making a Serial Killer is about the ‘why’ as much as it is about the ‘how and how were they caught.’ It’s a proven winner with True Crime audiences and our partnership with Radial is one we value as an example of fantastic editorial, commercial and strategic collaboration,” Hanrahan said.

Katie Carroll and Cristina Guggino serve as executive producers for Radial Entertainment, while Hanrahan executive produces for FirstLookStudios. Graham Smiles and Rachel Bowering are the series producers.

The multi-territory agreement was negotiated by Katie Carroll, Director of Originals & Business Development at Radial Entertainment, and Lucy Middelboe, Director of Business at FirstLookStudios, who have overseen the partnership since its beginning.
