Nine Network is set to delve into one of Australia’s most chilling geographical enigmas with its new true-crime investigative series, Outback Murder Highway.

The four-part production from Ronde Media focuses on the notorious Flinders Highway, an 800-kilometer stretch of road in outback Queensland where at least 11 people have vanished without a trace between 1970 and 2017. Shrouded in decades of mystery, these cold cases are revisited through an expert lens, featuring a team that includes an FBI-trained criminal profiler, a seasoned former homicide detective, and a criminologist-turned-archaeologist.

Throughout Outback Murder Highway, these experts return to the vast and isolated expanses of the highway to apply modern forensic techniques and fresh perspectives to the decades-old disappearances. This immersive investigation aims to uncover new leads in a landscape defined by its haunting silence.

Premiering on April 22 across Nine and the 9Now streaming platform, the show will also be supported by a companion podcast series titled Motive & Method, produced by 9Podcasts, offering viewers and listeners a comprehensive deep dive into the dark history of the Flinders Highway.
