Netflix has officially unveiled a stellar ensemble cast for its highly anticipated period revenge thriller Bad Bridgets, with industry heavyweights Colin Farrell, Steve Coogan, Charlie Heaton, and Domhnall Gleeson signing on for the ride.

Joining previously announced leads Emilia Jones and Alison Oliver, the production has also added talented stars Himesh Patel, Niamh Algar, and Simone Kirby to the ranks. Directed, written, and produced by Kneecap filmmaker Rich Peppiatt, the feature boasts massive creative backing, brought to life through a collaboration between Peppiatt’s Coup d’Etat banner and Margot Robbie’s acclaimed production company, LuckyChap.

Inspired by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick’s captivating history book Bad Bridget: Crime, Mayhem, and the Lives of Irish Emigrant Women, the film chronicles a fascinating and unruly chapter of history. The plot centers on a young Irish woman in the 19th century who receives a mysterious letter offering her an escape, leading her straight into the chaotic world of New York.

There, she is pulled into the unruly community of the “Bridgets”—a real-world swath of Irish female emigrants deemed notorious troublemakers, whose incarceration rates at one point even outnumbered their male counterparts.

Supported behind the scenes by Oscar and BAFTA-winning production and costume designers, Bad Bridgets is locked and loaded to begin shooting on location across Ireland and Northern Ireland in mid-July 2026.
