Faye Marsay is heading to ITV for a new crime thriller. The actor will star in Code Zero, a six-part police drama created and written by James Hall and produced by Two Brothers Pictures.
The series follows police sergeant Laura Collier, played by Marsay, as she takes rookie officer Cal Walters under her wing on his very first day. What should be a routine introduction to the job quickly turns into a nightmare when the pair become caught up in a carefully planned bank heist.
What Is Code Zero About?
The title refers to a Code Zero call, the most urgent alert a police officer can make when they are in immediate danger and need emergency assistance.
The first episode revolves around one such call, sending Laura and her colleagues into a race against time to find an officer and recover stolen money. As the investigation develops, the consequences of the heist begin to affect Laura’s life far beyond the case itself.
Marsay leads an ensemble cast that includes Sion Daniel Young, Brendan Coyle, Rachel Shenton, Aneurin Barnard, Anthony Welsh, Steven Cree, Libby Mai, Christine Adams and Vikash Bhai.
James Hall Creates His First Original TV Drama
Code Zero marks James Hall’s first original television drama. Hall is known for his work on Death in Paradise and Return to Paradise, as well as writing and producing credits on Holby City, EastEnders, Emmerdale and The Bill.
The series is produced by Two Brothers Pictures, the company behind The Tourist, Fleabag and The Assassin. Ashley Way directs the first three episodes, while Claire Winyard takes over for episodes four through six.
Code Zero Is Filming in Wales
Filming is taking place in Cardiff and South Wales with support from the Welsh Government through Creative Wales. All3Media International will handle the series’ international distribution.
