France TV Distribution is heading to this year’s Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Le Havre with four new TV movies, including two female-led action thrillers. The lineup also features a light crime drama and a dramedy, adding several new titles to the French sales company’s international slate.
Running from September 7 to 10, the Unifrance Rendez-Vous provides the backdrop for France TV Distribution to introduce its latest titles to international buyers.
What Are France TV Distribution’s New TV Movies?
One of the highlights is Alma, a vigilante thriller following Alice, a young woman who turns her anger over a violent past into a mission to protect women from assault. After a serial rapist infiltrates Alma, a safety app she created, Alice begins tracking down attackers herself. Her secret campaign for justice eventually puts both her friends and her police officer girlfriend at risk.
Ludmilla Makowski, Roxane Turmel and Myriam Djeljeli star in the film, which is directed by Adeline Darraux.
Another female-led thriller, The Recruit, follows Lyna, a trainee at France’s domestic intelligence agency who is assigned to find a mole leaking sensitive information to the U.S. With an international summit approaching, Lyna must get close to Constance, a student who may be the mole’s daughter. As their relationship develops, the boundaries between professional duty and personal feelings become increasingly difficult to maintain.
Kenza Fortas, Arnaud Binard, Rod Paradot and Lula Cotton-Frapier lead the cast, with Abel Ferry directing from a script by Yann Brion.
What Other Titles Are in the France TV Distribution Lineup?
The slate also includes It’s Gonna Be OK, a dramedy centred on Julien, an overworked social worker trying to keep a Marseille social centre running while dealing with a growing number of cases. Mathieu Madénian stars alongside Léonie Simaga and Clément Deboeur.
Rounding out the new titles is A Place in the Sun, a crime drama about Audrey Verdon, a former police officer who moves with her two teenage children to a small village in southern France. After a local teacher is found dead, Audrey becomes involved in the investigation despite the reluctance of the local police.
Béatrice de la Boulaye, Antoine Hamel and Philippe Duquesne star in the film, directed by Laly Perret-Vannucci.
Alongside the new films, France TV Distribution’s existing international slate includes the period drama Swapped and the mystery drama Our Missing Sons.
