Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer’s action comedy Ride Or Die has been cancelled by Prime Video after one season, with Paramount Television Studios looking for a new home for the series.
Created by Tessa Coates, the series follows best friends Debbie Claybourne and Judith Burton, whose relationship takes an unexpected turn when Debbie discovers that Judith is an international assassin. The cast also includes Ed Skrein, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, Jacky Ido, Sylvia Hoeks and Bill Nighy.
Ride Or Die Searches for a New Platform
The cancellation comes despite strong performance for the series. Following its July 15 premiere, Ride Or Die reached the top of Prime Video’s daily US rankings and also appeared on Luminate and Nielsen’s streaming charts. The series earned a 96% critics’ score and an 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The first season ended with several storylines that could have continued into a second season. Paramount Television Studios is now shopping the series to other potential buyers.
