Netflix has premiered its new crime drama Legends, a gripping six-part series set in 1990s Britain and inspired by remarkable true events.
Created by Neil Forsyth, the mind behind hits like The Gold and Guilt, the show follows a top-secret mission where ordinary customs officers are tasked with infiltrating the country’s most dangerous drug gangs. Unlike professional spies, these men and women are plucked from their everyday lives and thrust into the criminal underworld, operating under deep-cover identities known as “legends.”

The series features a stellar ensemble cast led by Tom Burke and Steve Coogan, alongside Hayley Squires, Tom Hughes, and Aml Ameen. With its gritty atmosphere, meticulous period detail, and exploration of hierarchical criminal structures, Legends is already drawing strong comparisons to the iconic series Peaky Blinders.
Directed by Brady Hood (Top Boy) and Julian Holmes (The Boys), the production captures the high-stakes tension of an investigation where the line between an officer’s real life and their undercover persona becomes dangerously blurred.
